Kelly Poquiz Burke is the Associate Director of Brand Marketing & Strategy at Avocados from Mexico (AFM) and leads the brand marketing efforts for the number 1 avocado brand in the U.S.
At AFM, Kelly spearheads the strategy and campaign development for tentpole moments like Super Bowl, Cinco de Mayo, and SXSW. For over 12 years, she has been passionate about building brands that touch people’s lives every day.
With both agency and client experience, she has worked on iconic household names like Frito-Lay, Doritos, Chick-Fil-A, Central Market, GameStop, and DiGiorno. Prior to AFM, Kelly was the brand manager for Doritos, where her most memorable work experience was getting to meet Lil’ Nas X, Sam Elliott, and Post Malone all in the same week for a Super Bowl production.
Kelly is the host and founder of Career Slay, a podcast aimed at slaying the fear in career. She was inspired to launch the podcast after beating breast cancer while she was pregnant during the global pandemic. She holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin and a BBA from the University of Notre Dame with a double major in Industrial Design and Marketing.
