COVID-19 Safety Precautions

With the return to live Digital Summit events in some cities in 2021, the DS team is dedicated to ensuring a great experience and keeping you safe during any ongoing pandemic conditions in the U.S. For the cities where we’re planning in-person events, please see all the measures below that we will be following to ensure everyone’s safety regarding the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

If you’re still not comfortable attending an in-person Digital Summit this year, you can also purchase the recordings to view on demand post event.

For our in-person events, here is what you can expect:

Out of an overabundance of caution and safety for our guests, the Digital Summit staff will be wearing masks throughout the event. We highly encourage all participants attending the event in any capacity to be vaccinated.

If You Are Sick

If you have a temperature, are showing any potential symptoms of COVID-19, have tested positive for COVID-19, or have been in close contact with anyone that has tested positive for COVID-19 within 14 days of the event then you need to stay home and request a refund. The Digital Summit team will not be conducting temperature checks at the event. If you don’t feel well, please stay home. Potential COVID-19 symptoms include:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

Masks

Digital Summit will be adhering to the CDC’s recent recommendations and requiring that ALL participants (staff, attendees, sponsors, and speakers) wear a mask while indoors at the event – and especially when in close proximity to one another (with the exception of eating and drinking).

Hand Cleaning

Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the event. Touchless hand sanitizer stations will be available at most venues. By this point, everyone should know that hand washing is important in helping reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Local Venue

We are working with the venues that host our events and are confident that they are doing everything they can as recommended by their local health agencies and required by their management.

Physical Touching is Discouraged (Handshakes, Hugs, or Fist Bumps)

While many at the event are vaccinated and/or not concerned about the health risks that physical touch may present, we request that attendees, speakers, staff and sponsors respect a “no-touch” policy at the event and highly recommend washing your hands often to prevent illness.

Seating and Spacing

Seating will be spaced with the recommended distance between attendees as determined by the venue and its local government. We may limit the number of passes sold at each event, as necessary, to meet such requirements.

Food and Beverage

We will be working with the venue to revise how food and beverage services will be provided to minimize exposure/risk. Designated networking times with food and beverages will take place at the beginning or end of programming each day to allow those, who prefer it, the opportunity to avoid large groups where masks are likely to be removed. One exception may be a late morning break on Day 2. See the Agenda page to confirm details for each event.

Vaccinations

While we strongly encourage our guests to be vaccinated, we are not requiring proof of vaccination at this time.
