Heidi Williams

Heidi Williams is the Social Media Manager and Content Strategist at Portland State University, running the university’s flagship social media platforms. In her first year at PSU, she increased engagement across social channels by more than 50%. In 2021, she helped launch an integrated content strategy for the Office of University Communications. She works closely with stakeholders across campus to create compelling, high-performing organic digital content that increases awareness of and preference for PSU. In both 2019 and 2020, PSU’s commecement-related social content reached millions of people, with key stories picked up by international media for global exposure. Before joining University Communications, Heidi spent over 20 years in journalism where she was an award-winning designer, editor and reporter before transitioning to digital curator and web manager; social media director; and, finally, video producer. In her final year at OregonLive, her videos garnered more than 1 million views.
